The Pre-School receives 15% of any house sale commission that they make.
What to do: If someone (anyone! even someone with no links to the pre-school) sells their house through Bridges, they must mention at point of contact that they would like to activate the Sonning Common Pre-School charitable donation. This means the pre-school could raise almost as much as a fair could in one fell swoop! One house sale would mean SO much to the Pre-School so PLEASE spread the word!
Joining the Committee
The Management committee is run by volunteers who’s aim is to provide a sounding board for the Manager of the Pre-School and to work with them to introduce new policies and processes to keep the Pre-School fully up to date with all elements of Health and Safety, EYFS guidelines and generally a safe fun learning environment.
PLA Volunteer for your Pre-School Committee
The committee work hand in hand with the Pre-School Manager and staff to ensure the smooth running of the Pre-School at all times. Generally we meet on a monthly basis as a group but will attend both the staff meetings and a weekly meeting with the Manager. When you join the committee it is generally for a year at a time as a minimum and the changeover happens in June at the AGM where new volunteers are sought. However additional members can join throughout the year with a maximum of 3 being co-opted in during a school year period and making a total of 12 at any one time.

Joining the Fund Raising Team
Even though the Pre-School is funded by government funding and fees from children attending the Pre-School, this only pays for the staff and general day to day running of the Pre-School. Any new equipment or arts and crafts materials or cooking ingredients have to be bought with money raised via the Fundraising team.
Therefore joining the fundraising team to help organise activities and days out are crucial to the upkeep of equipment and facilities for the Pre-School. Even if the help you offer is just on the day it spreads the load overall. As per the Committee this team is all run by volunteers and this year especially we desperately need people to help in this area.
